hose to nowhere, where does it go?

Default hose to nowhere, where does it go?
This hose is on the right side of a 1990 4.0 and it is attached to a metal pipe that appears to once have had a mounting flange.

The hose is coming from the back of the Jeep so I assume it's a fuel tank vent hose?

So my question is where does it go.
