1995 xj 4x4 4.0 ho. I have to hit the horn about twenty times to make it work. Then it will work for a couple hours. Could it be a bad relay?

 

Could be any number of things, the horn switch for example.

If the horn won't work simply use your middle finger to show your intent.

Do you hear the relay click when you hit the button? If so then it may be as simple as cleaning the ground connection on the horns. The bolt that holds them is the ground point. Also check the power lead connections on the horns as well. make sure they are clean. If the relay makes no clicking noise then it could be bad or your contact in the steering wheel is bad.
