Default Hood Insulation: What's this used for?
There appears to be a void in my new hood-insulation... Attached and circled. Help?

When the ultra high quality ac compressor kicks the bucket, this is where it sprays oil/bearings etc. The insulation manufacturer was just being thoughtful for easy future clean-up

Look directly below where those gaps are just as you close the hood. You'll see what its clearancing.

The big one is probably the upper radiator hose.

It looks nice, BTW.

That void spot may give a little more clearance for the rad and heater hose.
