I think it would be cool to have a Post It up with some rating levels. Maybe set some ground rules of basic tools and then a system of rating the ease of repairs and upgrades.
For instance, A Basic Tool Set would Include, but not be limited to XYZ. Say screw driver set, SAE and Metric Sockets from 1/4-3/4" and a ball peen hammer.
Level 2 Set would include but not be limited to...... and so on. Then setup some sort of rating system, such as an oil change requires a basic Kit and is a Level 1 job based on a 10 scale. Lift would require a Level 3 Kit and is a level 4 job and so on.
I post this as a prelude to a question. I got the 75/90 Synthetic for my Differentials, and I got to thinking, maybe I should change out the cover and gasket right away, and perhaps hose it out just because I am already under there. Then I looked for gasket and found that they sell a complete kit which includes the bearings. So I am thinking, that's cool, would not hurt to take care of it all, problem is, I have no clue what I am getting myself into, how long it might take, and if I will need any real skills to pull off these preventative repairs. Would be nice to go to a sticky, search the repair and see at least a general idea of tool level and skill set it would require.
