High RPM's
Morning, Guys
'01, automatic, 147k miles. Coming in this morning noticed she seemed to be "laboring" a little , was nailed to 3000 RPM's when keeping a steady 70 mph. Just felt and sounded like it wasn't making that last shift. Engine smelled a little hot when I got to work. Hood was not hot to the touch and the engine temp by the gauge was normal. Can't say she was driving bad, just working a little harder. Had been driving an avg. of 55 mph the first 15-20 miles and didn't notice a thing. 147k miles seems a little soon for transmission problems. I'm not obsessive about watching my RPM's, but 3000 seems a little above the norm. 2500 sounds about right at 70mph. Just checked the fluid last week and all was ok. Thoughts?
