Default High performance brake pads?

Just curious if anyone can recommend a high performance brake pad. Right now I have the ceramic ultra quiet autozone pads and they are quiet, but stopping power is not very good at all, and being I am going to be towing with my jeep (about 3500 lbs including trailer and car) and can't afford a trailer with trailer brakes yet, so I am looking for some brake pads that won't over heat and fade when slowing down going down hill and give me some extra stopping power so it doesn't take forever to slow down with all the extra weight. Any suggestions?

Hawk pads are what I have on mine.

Before other people harass you about it, I would post up More info on your vehicle.

(edit) profile updated

Also figured I would go with basic autozone shoes for the rear as I imagine most of the stopping power comes from up front, as long as the e-brake holds the weight with autozone shoes I imagine they would be fine, I just won't park on any hills when trailer and car is attached.

I think he meant you need to add that info under the details in your profile to avoid any future confusion. JMO

Your pushing it a bit with what your trying to accomplish. The weights you listed indicate that what your towing will weigh roughly what your XJ does or a little over. Brake pads are not going to help, you do need a braked trailer, trying to stop 7000 pounds with the stock system is going to be dangerous and beat the crap out of your Jeep. Just my .02.

It just sucks cause those trailers are so expensive and just supporting a track car is very expensive. I know the jeep has a tow capacity rating of 5000lbs, but who knows how accurate that is. Just trying to get by with what I got, but I don't really want to kill my tranny (ax-15) or rear end ( 8 1/4)

You should look into Hawk Performance Pads for sure, just like mentioned above. They make awesome severe duty pads and other Truck/SUV pads. I don't run them on my Jeep (running the Wagner Thermoquiet pads) cause it is my girlfriend's daily driver with very little towing or anything like that.

I DO run the Hawk Pads on my Civic Si and they are amazing. I am only running the HPS which is a high performance street pad and those things will leave you staring at pavement when you step on the brakes.

Look into some good quality rotors and the Hawk pads and you will not be upset with your decision. They are a bit spendy but well worth it.

Yah, I run Hawk pads on my track car and the stopping power is amazing, but I have multi piston caliper's and huge rotors on a light weight car so thats to be expected, didn't know hawk made something that will fit the xj, I will definetly check that out.
