I've never found anyone that need the 60". plus there harder to find a place to put them. I'd say just get the 48".
on s side note the 48" ones are scary enough when it use I couldn't imagine how bad the 60" would be..

there not just a jack you can use them for a come along also
I use my highlifter for a jack and a come allong like ^^^. I dont know how many times I have used it to winch some one out. I have allot of budys who dont even have winches. They just use there hijacks the same way I use my winch and it works awsome. just hook a strap to the stuck vehicle and a strap to the another vehicle and put the Jack in the middle and jack it up. It will pull any vehicle out. I also change all of my own tires and I use it to break the beads off the tire. It works very, very well for that too. I have seen mostly as a tire tool. I cant count how many times I used it in the trails to fix my tires or some one elses. I also have used it as a clamp many times. Just flip the crank around and now you have a clamp. I have used it to fix cages that were bent in a roll over. I even had a buddy break a drag link tube on his xj deep in the trails and we used his highlift handle to weld in his rig to get him out. He still wheeled his rig for the whole weekend that way.
Its not just to look cool it is a very valuable piece of equiptment I always have with me. Allong with recovery straps and tow points its one of the most valuable and versitile things to have. If you dont have a winch than I think you must have a hijack. Even with a winch every one I know still has a hijack or a hijack coppy.
And befor anyone asks, eventho the coppys work well I say spend the extra $10 or $20 dollars and get a hijack you cheep .
If you have room for the 60" go for it but every one I know including my self have a 48" and never needed anything longer.

mine is the shorter one, but it just hangs on the wall in my garage. I'm always wheeling with a big group and atleast half of them have one in thier trucks. I've never tried to use it as a recovery tool, but i have a winch for that. Its good to have with you, but I got tired of having mine in the jeep with me.

48" ones are adequate for a Jeep. My dad had a 60" one for a dual wheeled pickup and he needed the extra length only once and that was a very unusual situation.

i have a 60" and needed it at least once. when in deep mud, combined with 8" lift, it will sink in the mud a foot or so before it even starts lifting the jeep.
if you have a place to mount a 60", get that.

I'm looking at buying one of these as well just to lift the car quickly for regular maintenance. Is this a good tool for that? where do I lift the car from if I use a hi lift jack? bumper?
Thanks,
Thanks,
