i just got all 4 from rusty's and as of now i love em they do what their suposed to and still rides nice on the road beat on them a little and they held up no problem

most good lift kits should come with the shocks

You mention that this is your first Jeep, but is this you first venture into offroading?

IMO, I'd bite the bullet and go for the 4"–5" lift that you say you want to install by the end of the summer anyway. However, I think that the more seasoned offroaders with more modified vehicles might want to tell you of any other things you may need to install and service to avoid possible driveline vibrations and death wobble, to connect the sway bar, etc.

I don't have any intention of lifting over two inches...yet. But I'm new to this activity myself.
