i know what you mean, look at it this way, if you find one in a jy and the jeep is wrecked. its probably safe as long as the case isnt cracked. they normally give you some kind of replacement guarranty.Originally Posted by tom9193

Hmm. I get this acceleration drag occasionally and I noticed you said you changed the O2 sensor. I don't even have a cat. The O2 is just plugged in and zip tied to the exhaust hanger. Do you think if I weld in a bung and put the O2 in it would help?Originally Posted by FlemingXJ
I had part of your problem with the acceleration difficulties. I was chasing it with parts cause our shops here are too everpriced. i changed my 02 sensors and and my throttle positioning sensor and the problem was gone! even the humming sound
no your problem i think is u dont have enough back pressure besides its illegal not to have a cat. if u use a high flow converter might help
yea craigs list was my second after i checked on here and ebay anybody know if this would work and is it complete (besides the chain)

I don't think it's running like crap cuz it's illegal, but I'm putting one on anyway, just not now. It's 3 degrees outside, haha. Once I can get in a garage or the sun's out for a day I'll get the cat from the junkyard and weld it in. I don't mind spending 10 minutes outside to weld just the bung in though, to see if it helps. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I should be welding it in tomorrow.
