Exclamation Help what is this

1996 cherokee country 4.0l. It seems to be leaking a lil. The blue line goes to my gas tank. Found it not connected a few days ago. Thanks for any help

Charcoal canister. It filters fuel fumes in the evap system. It's part of emissions.

Fumes from the tank go into that canister, filtered by charcoal, then passed to the intake air, where they are burned in the engine

Thanks appreciate the replies. One of the 3 ports does not have anything on it. Is that a problem? Could i put hose clamps on them?

Should be 4 ports on top. The large one in the center is a vent. One goes to the fuel tank(smaller hose). One goes to the air filter box(larger hose). One,at least on my '96,is not open. You can put clamps on but shouldn't be necessary.

Get rid of that Fram filter and install a Wix or Napa Gold filter.


Just say'n mate.
