Same problem here! Turn signals we're working and literally the next day they weren't. Hazards are working just fine. Already tried with a new flasher relay and that was not it. Also tried with a new multifunction switch, and nothing. Please help!!! What else can I try? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

FYI, I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4WD, 6cyl, 4.0L. A while back, I noticed that from time to time, when I tried to signal left or right, my turn signals would signal properly and then stop. OR, sometimes I would go to signal, get nothing, and then they would come on normally and work fine. It would go for weeks just fine and then I'd get the problem again. The same thing happened with the hazards. They'd come on fine, then shut off.

As time went on, the frequency of the problem increased. As recently as this month, they basically did not work. I'd signal, get one click (if anything) and the nothing. Same with the hazards.

I read this thread and decided to go the route of replacing the Hazard Warning/Turn Signal Flasher. I found the $15.99 part at AutoZone. Part number EP27. I followed directions on this thread to get under the steering column area, found the old one, and replaced it
Found this thread, had the same issue with my 2001, but only with my turn signals. Replaced with EP27 from AutoZone and done.. FIXED!

Thanks guys!

I know this is an old thread, but the information is still relevant. I have a '99 Cherokee, 4.0, 4WD, all stock. Two weeks ago, the emergency flashers began acting up, and then last week, the turn signal just quit working. Extensive testing showed that if I turned the flasher on (ignition off) only the left front lights lit up. If I depressed the turn signal for a left turn, with the emergency flasher still on, the left side would flash. If I moved the turn signal to a right turn, all the lights would flash. If I turned off the emergency flasher, nothing worked, ignition on or off.

I should have gone to Auto Zone for EP27 at $15.99, but instead I went to Advanced Auto, and paid $45 for the part.

When I first installed the new flasher, and tested it, nothing changed. Discouraged, I reassembled the dash, and went inside to put my tools away. As I thought about it, though, it occurred to me that the turn signals only work when the ignition is on, so, I went back outside and cranked up the Jeep. I then tested the signal functions again. At first, they malfunctioned in the same way, but as I cycled through the options, each began to work, and in the end, everything worked as it should. Apparently, there's a computer in there, somewhere, that has to be reinitialized to recognize the new flasher before it will work properly.

So, crank the car and test all the functions before you give up on it!

Default Replace the flasher relay unit and the multi function switch,

2000 Jeep grand Cherokee. New turn signal multi function, switch and new turn signal relay, still no turn signals most of the time. Everything else works fine. Rear gate remote unlock is the only other thing that does not work
any ideas?

What do you mean by "most of the time"? Is there a pattern or is it completely random whether/when they work?

Any intermittent fault suggests a bad connection or poor ground, to me.

I have the same problem but for me I had just fixed my 3rd brake light and the next day only the hazards work changed the switch and the relay checked every fuse I have absolutly no idea as to what it might be.
