Default HELP! Trans filter change problem

Please Help! I have a 1999 XJ that I'm changing the transmission fluid and filter on. I cannot get the upper half of the dipstick tube to seperate . I have tried for 2 days now to get it off. I am both out of strength and patience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have already tried bolting the pan back on and trying to wiggle it loose from the engine compartment and I've also tried leaving the tube bolted on with the pan loose and pulling down and wiggling the tube housing. Thanks!

Brilliant! Does that cause any issues with the distick reaching the pan? I.E. catching the edge of the cut tube. That would definately make future changes much easier as well....

Negative, works perfect, next pan drop will be a walk in the park.
