Question Help! Swapping front axels

Hi, can anyone tell me if i can replace a 3.55 front axel with the 3.73 just the same as installing a new 3.55? I have to replace but my options are limited so if i find a 3.73 can i use that as easy as the 3.55.
i have a 2002 grand Cherokee laredo. 6cyn

thank you

you will have regear the rear axle, but to answer you question yes its the same axle will fit, that much difference in ratio will cause binding in 4wd. IMO you need to find either 2 3.73s or another 3.55.

the axle are the same, except for the diff internals. Like said above if you rear isn't 3.73, you will NOT be able to use 4wd. Front and rear MUST be geared the same.
