Help with starter
My ignition broke last August and I haven't got around to fixing it yet (the gears inside are stripped), so I've been starting with the ignition switch using a screwdriver and I went out to start it the other day and it wouldn't, so I had to get underneath and start it by touching both posts with a screwdriver, so does anyone know why my ignition switch won't work, it should be fine i just got it replaced, and just went and bought a new one and tried it but same problem. Help me out please.

Do you get lights, bells and whistles when you turn it to the on position?

Check the top of your steering column under the dash there is a rod that comes down and operates a mechanical switch, sometimes it dislodges and will not operate. You put the cylinder in correctly right?
