Default Help - RMS Issues....please

Ok so I know RMS has been done to death.

BUT

I cant for the life of me seem to get the damn upper seal to budge.

Even pulling the bottom half out of the rear main bearing cap was a pain, and part of it looked to be seized to the cap in which I had to carefully scrape off.

Anyone have some tips I already loosened all the bearing caps and tried to use a punch and hammer to entice it out, but like I said it hasn't budged, and I've been trying for awhile now.

Anyone ever use a rear main seal extractor/installer tool if so can you recommend one.

I do not want to have to pull the engine and crank

All help appreciated

Thanks!!

I would pull on the end of the seal is it was there to pull on but both ends are still flush with the engine. After using my punch on one side the other is still in the same place - does anyone know if I can use a torch to possibly loosing the seal????

Thansk

Im wondering also. I couldnt get the upper part out of my motor either. I managed to stab it several times with a punch but it never budged. I replaced the bottom half and goobered the ends with RTV. Leaks a bit, but it always did anyway.

Figured I was better off NOT scratching my crank so I left the upper part alone.

How about using PB blaster - or heat - anyone think that'll work or be ok inside the engine??

^2x and use a wooden dowel for a punch so you don't damage the crank journal
