I'm trying to find the bulb number for the rear hatch dome light in a 99 Cherokee. Autozone and sylvania said a 561 but it's not that one. It's a different bulb than the front.

The jeep didn't have a bulb in it so I can't even compare. Does someone have a number or a picture? Thanks in advance

 

Where is this "hatch dome light?" I have a '99 but the only light that comes on is the one above the seats and it only comes on when I open one of the front doors or turn the headlight switch. Someone mentioned the hatch turning a light on but I haven't bothered to investigate yet (not a lot of daylight when I have time to work, and I've been working on more important functional stuff like brakes and changing fluids)

If I have one, I'll gladly pop it out and inspect it for you

 

Sorry, no idea on the number. You only really need to get a 12v bulb that'll fit in the holder. If you're worried about wattage, use the same wattage as the front one.

 

X2^ Do you mean to tell me that Chrysler Jeep service can't tell you what bulb? Really? I mean, they made the vehicle, correct? Some how, somewhere, there is a manual at Jeep that has the number of that bulb in it.

 

You can go to superbrightleds.com and plug in your vehicle info,...it will list all possible bulbs (factory numbers and also their led replacements) I've been totally satisfied with their products and with an led dome light, much brighter if you chose that application. They have pics and you can eyeball your "socket" and get the right one.
