Default HELP! Parking brake stuck?

Hi all. I need some advice. I just replaced the front rotors and brake pads on my 99 Cherokee Sport. During the process, I engaged the parking/emergency brake as instructed by the Factory Service Manual. Once I completed the job, I lowered the vehicle and attempted (after disengaging the parking park) to move the XJ out of the garage. No luck...she wouldn't budge. I then lifted the front end and could spin each front tire...if it were the front brakes I just did locking up, I would not have been able to spin then, correct? So I assume, even though I lowered the parking lever for the emergency brake, that they are somehow stuck and will not allow me to move the Jeep. Any ideas on what the cause is and how I can "unstick" the parking brake? Thanks in advance!!

I had a park brake stick on me once, and I just put it in 4LO and rocked it from R to D until it broke loose, probably not the best way to "unstick" one but it worked for me, and that's also why I never use the parking brake in my jeep anymore, lol.

Really? Could I do any major damage to the vehicle trying this??

Well, I got the Jeep out of the garage putting it in 4LO, but I think the rear brakes are still engaged. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do? Should I pull the rear wheels off, but not sure what I should look for or adjust on rear drum brakes? I beat on the brake cables under the driver side rocker panel, but nothing.

Can anyone help? Can't move it further until I figure out whats going on, and really don't want the expense of a tow to a repair shop and diagnose and repair. Thanks!

I'll give that a shot. Should I pull the cable toward the backing plate or away from it? Thanks.

I also shot some PB oil on the cables in/around the equalizer and tensioner rod cables connect, in the hope that the oil will run down within the vinyl cable cover and help un-stick things. Will let you know if I'm successful! Appreciate your input!
