HELP!!! P0301 P0300 code and ROUGH IDLE

Exclamation HELP!!! P0301 P0300 code and ROUGH IDLE


last week when it was raining, I was on my way home and was horsing around and stomping on the gas a bit to spin the tires in the wet street. Well, I dont know what happened, but the next morning the CHECK ENGINE light came on and at idle it was running below 1000 RPM.

I check the code and it read P0301- cylinder 1 misfire.

Got on the internet and read the various posts and messages...

Here is what I did:
1)Changed the fuel injector
2)replace the distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires. I looked at the plugs and the looked great- no black carbon or fouling, nice tan like the picture in the back of the shop manual...
3) ran a can of Sea Foam through the throttle body

Now the code has gone from just P0301 to P0301 P0300 P0304

HELP!!! Any ideas? I was thinking maybe I jumped the distributor and that the timing might be off a little...

I really don't know what to do next... This is my daily driver and I need it to get to work, so I cant really afford to have it up in a shop...

Forgot to say what I drive:
1997 XJ Country, 4.0L with 247,000 + mile, until this, ran GREAT!

Check your Ignition coil , multiple cylinder misfires is a indicator of a bad coil . Might want to just replace due to the mileage on the vehicle.

ok... replaced the ignition coil... problem persists...

Anyone have any other ideas?

So lets recap: I have replaced a fuel injector, distributor cap, rotor and wires, ignition coil...

HELP!!!

Have you replaced the spark plugs? Copper Champions are best. Under your hood it should have a part number like RC12ECC. Chrysler also used NGK ZFR5Ns. Multiple misfires after Seafoam sounds like crap has been knocked loose.

Can you elaborate on changing the fuel injector? Have you changed them between cylinders to see if the misfire follows?

Nornal RPM on a 4.0 is 750 at idle. Was yours over 1000 previously or something? Do you know how to check for vacuum leaks?

When I originally had the P0301 code, I pulled the plug on the 1st cylinder and it was beautiful...
I replaced the injector on the first cylinder with a brand new one...
I got the multiple misfires after I changed the injector out. After I got the multiple misfires, that's when I decided to SEAFOAM the engine...
As far as the idle goes, I am just reading off the in-dash tach... It used to idle right at the 1000 mark, now it settles at the mark right below that...
