Default help with overheating problems

been having trouble with my cooling system. after my radiator cracked i replaced it with a new one along with a new cap. added new coolant with water. after driving it for about 15 minutes it starts to overheat again. this time white smoke and a loud whistling noise (sound of boiling water in a kettle pot) started. went filled it with water and made my home still steaming. took out thermostat and combined it with hot water and it opened up. tried running it without thermostat around the block for 10 minutes. no overheating until i reached my garage. as i parked i heard an explosion and outside was a mess of radiator fluid shooting out of bottom hose along with white smoke. after waiting for it to cool down i found no signs of an leaks or tears in the bottom hose. i had the bottom hose on pretty tight after installing my new radiator. checked oil for milky color. radiator hose isnt clogged. i believe there was way too much pressure built up in my radiator. my original cap was a 18 and i am now using a 13 which was recommended. this overheating is a nightmare. has anyone have any pointers please help. thanks!

Test the coolant for oil, with white smoke and over-pressurized coolant it sounds like a head gasket.

Which you might even pull your plugs and look for signs too.

Yes. Based on your Jeep having the infamous 0331 head and your symptoms, I would strongly suspect either a blown head gasket, or more likely a cracked head.

Hope your bearings aren't wiped yet. Don't drive it any more until correctly diagnosed.

Thanks for all the helpful tips. Havent had time to look into it yet as for how busy ive been. I know the head gasket will be pretty pricey but ill for sure start with checking the coolant.
