Good to hear, my xj has had that leaking injector problem more than once. Not a very comforting feeling when you open the hood and smell fuel strong and then notice it leaking on the engine.

I changed my oil today and have the same problem as you now.

Very dark oil and smells like gas. I have no oil leaks however.

How did you go about cleaning your injectors, and how do you ohm them out?

I feel like a complete idiot asking this considering I'm an electrician, I don't work on on 12v DC systems however.

What kind of oil did you use?
I removed each injector and sprayed carb cleaner into each and then jumpered them to the battery with alligator clips and a switch. You can find the how to on YouTube pretty easily. this should come at no surprise but do not let the 2 clips touch ( short across the battery)
Remove the injector harness pigtail and use your multimeter to test resistance across the 2 prongs.

What is the purpose of using Lucas in your oil?

Fuel smelling oil also depends on how many miles you drive one way. If the engine doesn't warm up all the way and boil the "crap" (condensed fuel, moisture, ect.) out of the oil, it will smell of gas. I say one way because if it sits for 2-4 hours the engine will cool back down to ambiant temp. But as was mentioned, a leaking injector pintel could do it too. Also bad t-stat not allowing the engine to warm up.

Everytime I drive my jeep I drive it atleast 10 miles so it deff is warmed up. Just yesterday I drove 130 miles on a trip and last month 300 miles up to a mountain.
I don't think that's the problem. But I have no real way to check the temp since my gauge doesn't work.
I was considering maybe because of my delivery job that could be a factor. Lots of stop and go and racing around, I usually let my jeep idle on deliveries thoigh

Idling could be part of it. Oil temp is not linear with water temp. I have cold started mine and let it idle for 15 min. and then I was able to lay my hand on the oil pan for like 30 seconds without getting burned. As far as checking the T-stat, after it's been running for a while, feel the heater hoses. If they are so hot you can't touch 'em, your t-stat is fine. Course I guess it could also be overheating too
