Default HELP! No start??? ...

I have a 93 Cherokee xj totally stock. I just replaced the freeze plugs, head gasket, and the exhaust manifold. I got it all back together and it was working fine. I parked it for 6 months then I couldn't start it?? No crank nothing but the electrical worked. (I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key) The battery was really old so I replaced it and I got it to start sometimes in N and sometimes in P. Then It started good and consistently in P. Now Im back to no start with all the electrical working .....

I am guessing since you said that "I got it to start sometimes in N and sometimes in P." it will be that you NSS is or already went bad. You can try giving it a good cleaning and see if that will take care of you problem. Check out this link and it will tell you how to clean and repair it. http://www.bc4x4.com/tech/2010/jeep-...ty-switch-nss/

Thanks ill give it a shot. Another issue I had which could be related was when I was driving the whole vehicle would shut off. No electrical or anything then it wouldn't start. I did replace the battery and that could have been it?

I would start by cleaning ALL of the grounding points. Not just at the battery but all of them. That would include the ground at the oil dipstick rear of the head (drivers side) to the fire wall, battery to the fender also check the starter mounting to the engine, That is also a ground point. After you check all of your grounds and if you still have the problem let us know and we can go from there.
