I have a 1997 jeep cherokee sport 4.0L AW4 np231.....bought it as a project great body condition no rust no dings. My problem is I just bought brand new battery for it it ran for a short bit, it would not stay running so I started replacing and cleaning the throttle body, replaced IAC, and TPS when I went to go start it again the lights on the cab, gas, battery, fuel, oil, mileage, radio, lights nothing came on.....ok no problem went to jump it with my other jeep.....nothing still no power nothing.
I hooked my battery charger on it for about 45/60 min worked on stripping the interior came back turned key on lights and gauges work....cool went to start and lights dims and nothing happens barely a click from the starter. After checking the fuses with voltmeter and battery came back and lights are slow to light up and still nothing.
I know that the 97s are known for electrical issues, any insight would be great I am mechanically inclined and have had and owned jeeps before. Power to the fuse box under the hood and all fuses there, so I checked a couple of fuses inside on the kicker panel and they have showed power but not all.....
Please any help or ideas or thoughts guys. Thanks

Could be as simple as bad battery cables, connectors or grounds. Looking isn't enough, have to remove them, clean and inspect.
Ignition switch/connector is another common "no power" failure.
