Default Help! My lights won't work.

My taillights, gauge lights, and parking lights don't work. My headlights still work and dome lights and brake lights, but none of the aforementioned work. I checked fuses, grounds, and all but two bulbs. I need to get them working. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Got voltage? if not it's the switch.

Use a test light on the fuses... sounds like a parking light circuit fuse. If you have power on bith sides if the fuse check at a bulb socket.

I tested the fuse block, and found out that the inst lps fuse isn't getting power. It's an orange/black wire. The parking lamps fuse also started blowing. And it's also not the switch, I replaced it with a new one today.

How did this all start, just install a head unit?

I also have this problem in my Comanche. Haven't been able to locate the issue.

I very briefly shorted the positive battery terminal and the chassis with a ratchet. Or at least I noticed it after that happened. And the only other thing was new speakers in the liftgate, and I reconnected some weird connector in the liftgate.

My buddies 90 had a connection like that in his. He couldn't keep his lights on when he connected it. He kept blowing fuses, lights not working; same as you. Disconnected it, and the issue went away. Idk only in an XJ!

Well I disconnected it. Haven't tried my lights yet. Need to go get fuses and bulbs. Hopefully they work. I'll be so freaking happy. No more skinned knee from kneeling on the driveway. Sitting here watching top gear, saw an xj in the challenge preview. Definitely going to monument valley, Arizona and off roading. Looks so fun.
