Default Help! My Jeep is falling apart!

Hey everyone I appreciate everyone's help in advance for your feedback. I am auto mechanically illiterate and was hoping to get some answers.

A couple days ago while driving I noticed that the info panel on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited said that my driver door was open and thus the interior lights came on. After repeatedly slamming the door the indication didn't go away, so I manually turned off the interior lights and kept driving. At this time I also discovered that none of my power controls were working (doors, windows, locks). Fast forward a couple days later - I went to start my jeep this morning and the battery is dead. I've read a couple threads and looked at the wired in the door boot, but they all looked fine. Any ideas?
