I have an 89 xj that was running fine up until about 2 weeks ago it started studdering when i got on the gas but only in drive now not only does it studder but it pops my fusable link before i can get anywhere, but only in gear it will idle and rev all day. things ive repaced in the last week are fuel pump, fuel filter, map sensor, tps, ground straps, cleaned the air filter, and replaced plugs wires and cap and rotor.... i dont know what to try next any comment will be considered come on man you read it you might as well give me your 2 cents

 

hmm my guess would be the cps (crankshaft position sensor) tells the motor when to fire which it sounds like yours is misfiring

 

ive heard someone mention that on another post and thought it could be a possibility do you think that could cause my electrical problem or is that a whole other issue

 

What fusable link do u keep blowing?

 

the one coming off the battery

 

You say it only happens when in GEAR. the you might want to check Transmission related problem, Just saying......

 

Check with 5-90, he is a member here and has HUGE electrical knowledge
