Default Help me pick leafs

Its time to order some new packs.... I've been doing some looking but dang there's lots of options. lol

I know you guys can point me in the right direction. I already have 2"ext shackles and my stock leafs are shot, like totally flat. A fresh pack and ideally something that once settled, would still add another 1" + would be great.

I've looked at several from Crown and others. Most of which are listed as "heavy duty" and say they will do the above BUT clearly they are not all the same so..... What say you? Suggestions?

I guess I'm confused, but how much lift are you looking for?

Well... I am really more concerned with getting a good pack that will be slightly heavier than stock. Like I said I already have 2" shackles so ideally an HD pack that would add 1" or so after settling would be great for a total of 3"-3.5" ?? Somethin like that. I don't wanna saggy ***, especially when loaded down. My XJ will take some offroad hunting trips where it will be loaded to the gills with gear.

This is just me, but I woukd just get a 3 inch pack and ditch the longer shackles. Or get you a 1 inch heavy duty pack like crown or dorman and get you some relocation brackets to dial in your ride quality.
if you want to spend, old man emu has some very nice heavy duty leaf packs. I think they are 3 inches as well.

sounds like you want the "upcountry" springs. You can google that and do some research, or maybe someone else has the part number. I did find this.

I also agree with Martlor--ditch the shackles and get some OME leafs--2.5" - 3.5" cs033rb is the part number. They will cost you a little more. full pack is 3.5", remove one leaf it's 2.5"

Amazon Amazon

From what I have researched, this seems to be the most popular across the boards for a heavy duty spring pack and is the way I plan to go. Right now I just installed gabriel air shocks with great results untill I get the money to get everything I need and some nicer weather.

The dorman 929-301 springs will accomplish what you are wanting.

They will settle to about 1" over stock. They are basically intended to match the stock "up-country" springs. Which were 1" higher than the stock XJ. They will be about 2" over stock when first installed. So some weight can be used in the rear to help them settle, or just some time and miles.

I put them on about 12 months ago, and they have settled to almost exactly 1" above stock.

They are priced right, the quality was good, and they come with the bushings pre-installed. Which made the price even more attractive. I had them shipped to the door in 2-3 days for $100/each.

The dorman's are labeled "heavy duty", but that is just a way to say that they were for the "up country" package and are 1" over stock after settled. There is nothing particularly heavy-duty about them.
