help me if you can

OK I got my Jeep in time and the problem I'm running into now is its not getting any gas. I can hear the fuel pump kick on and off but I'm not getting anything on the fuel rail. What could it be? Please help me out and its a 93 xj 4.0 thanks

Gee oh Dee 11-13-2011 11:38 AM

Could be a bad pump. Clogged filter.

Could be alot of things.

BIGCOOK 11-13-2011 11:55 AM

So I should start at the fuel filter and go from there cause it sat for 2 years that I know of

I would say to need to start by drop the tank and clean it out. What year is your jeep

lawdog1068 11-13-2011 12:49 PM

define "now is its not getting any gas." litterally you push valve on rail and nothing? or really really low pressure? either way a bad filter or a pinched line maybe? what about PCM? you have odb1 (i think) but you can still pull codes. even if CEL isnt on there might be a code storred in there that will give you a direction. idk, my .02. good luck!

Thanks y'all I'll give it a try and see where it goes

BIGCOOK 11-13-2011 01:09 PM

I pushed in the valve on the fuel rail and it didn't let any pressure out at all (no air or gas) and since its been sitting for a few years I'm gonna replace the fuel pump and filter to start with
