tecnically a shackle is the best way to go... they can continue growing with your lift. an add-a-leaf will eventaully wear out, and if your leaf packs are already shot the add-a-leaf will be supporting the weight the stock leafs should be supporting. id go shackle before AAL
unless you have the extra cash buy some OME med. duty full leaf packs and you still should get 2" of lift
i have a 2" lift useing the shackle and front coil spacers. it still rides like stock and nothing changed. im with these guys on blocks, youd have to be an idiot to use them the best part of blocks is watching you budy driving in front of you at 65mph and seeing the block twisting out and rubbing the hell out of the tires. of course if you like to watse money you should go with blocks. on the subject of lift someone told me if you use front stock coils from a grand cherokee it gives you 2" lift and the rears give you three and a half of lift. any one know????

yeah the front coils off of a zj (93-98) V8 will fit the front of your xj...but as far as the rear goes you can do a bastard pack with the leaves off of an s10

I as the others on here have stated. Never even consider a block as a lift component.
