I did this with my 88 OBDI...
I had the mechanic from Pro Jeep ride with me and he watched the reader and only noticed one thing odd, the RPM's read low just before the moment the engine shuddered. So I bought a new CPS and installed it. Didn't change... So I recently relocated the big vacuum ball to try to eliminate a possible vacuum leak. Didn't change a thing...

87-90 aren't obd... renix can don't store codes like obd. Pre-obd system. Sometimes you can find the drbII scanners for renix in eBay... I want one!

Still getting a stall when stooping and going into reverse and when I giv it gas it stalls. Just about every time I as I am backing into the garage that has an incline to get up into it.

Today I replaced the injectors with the Ford 5.0 one other threads are talking about... No improvement with the stalling.

A couple weeks ago I swapped out the plug wires from my '96 into the '88. No improvement with the stalling.

Any other ideas???

Plugged cat. Hook a vacuum guage up and Google how to interpret it.

Default update...

Ok so I was planning on doing the sea foam treatment of adding it to the throttle body and heard it was best to disconnect the cat. I drove it backing into my garage again and it wanted to stall like before.
I will still test with the vacuum gauge.

I found that injector problems would also case this. When I put 5.0 injectors in mine it really helped.

Yep just did the 5.0 injecters too... I hope the vacuum test shows something. I need a longer hose to gun it in from the engine bay.

Still haven't done the vacuum test... ugh!
I did try cleaning out the IAC and throttle body off the intake and even cleaned up a set of 4 relays on the passenger side of the engine bay and replaced the MAP sensor as well as the CPS.
Still stalls when backing out of a parking spot.
It seems to run a little better.
