I'mt new to the site. I just bought a 94 Cherokee and it has a small crack in a hose right below the coolant reservoir. I tried charging the AC system and air is leaking out of the crack.
Can someone help me identify what this hose is?
So I am confused. Are you talking about the hose circled in yellow?
If so that is a vacuum line for your cruise control actuator.
Nothing to do with your AC.
As Ralph77 posted, that is a vacuum line for the cruise control actuator. If you follow that line "downstream" it will terminate in a vacuum reservoir which is located behind the front right bumper. Looks like a black plastic sphere.
The reservoir allows the vehicle to store up vacuum for conditions when it may be needed...and engine conditions don't allow as much vacuum to be produced.
If you follow it upstream from your pictured location, at the next junction at the fire wall just on the passenger side it will "T" off to a line that enters the cabin and provides vacuum to your AC system that allows the vent selection to work.
Default (without vacuum) should be defrost mode. Fix the leak and you should be able to select floor, dash, etc vents. After the "T", the line attaches to the intake, where the vacuum is generated.
