Since the axles are available stock from the factory hunt the PnP's for xj's with a 4cyl, when you see one check the axles, and pull them. That way you save cash on the gear install.


As for can I get by with stock gears and bigger tires.. sure you can, just most of the time you are driving outside the optimal power/economy curve of your engine. Just once you put bigger tires on you rig, figure out how much your MPH is off before complaining abut poor fuel economy or getting a ticket for speeding
