help fuel pressure regulator

Default help fuel pressure regulator

hey guys im changing my fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump
and im stuck i cant get the fuel pressure regulator off of the top of the fuel pump assembly

by the way i have a 98 jeep cherokee

The entire assembly should come off the top of the tank when you remove the sending unit.

dude thats what im saying...how do you get the regulator out of that lid

To clear this up are your replacing the entire assembly?

REMOVAL
  1. Remove fuel tank.
  2. Clean area around filter/regulator.
  3. Disconnect fuel line at filter/regulator. Refer to Quick-Connect Fittings for procedures.

  1. Remove retainer clamp from top of filter/regulator (Fig. 19) . Clamp snaps to tabs on pump module. Discard old clamp.
  2. Pry filter/regulator from top of pump module with 2 screwdrivers. Unit is snapped into module.

  1. Discard gasket below filter/regulator (Fig. 20).

  1. Before discarding filter/regulator assembly inspect assembly to verify that 0-rings (Fig. 21) are intact. If the smallest of the two 0-rings can not be found on bottom of filter/regulator it may be necessary to remove it from the fuel inlet passage in fuel pump module.
