Hey guys. I have searched for this question before, however the grommet that everyone recommends doesn't seem to fit on my jeep, for some reason. I have a 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4.0L. I am searching for the grommets for the CCV and PCV elbows that attach to the top of the valve cover. Every previous thread recommended dorman#42344, but as shown in the pictures below, that grommet seems too big to fit in my setup. The grommet that needs to be replaced appears to be 10mm smaller, and there does not seem like there is room for the bigger grommet, given the plastic fitting and metal lines being in the way.
I am just confused on what part I need, and why my engine setup seems to be different from most others of this year. My Jeep is 2WD only, if that makes a difference. Basically, the inner diameter seems correct, as the elbow in front is pictures and fits inside, and the elbow in back is similar except it is shorter in height. However the outer diameter seems to be too big.
I think you bought the wrong parts.
I think you don't have grommets in an '92 like my '00 does.
Kinda looks like that in your picture too.
My '91 to '93 parts catalog does not show grommets.
53030054 is the front.
53009241 is the back.
Awesome. I looked them up and those definitely look like the parts I need. Where were you able to find these schematics and how were you able to find the correct one for my vehicle, if you don't mind me asking?
