Default HELP! Dying XJ Issue

Having some issues with the jeep!
Started about 3 hours into a 4 hour drive home. I was backing into a spot and all the sudden the jeep completely died. Got home with no more issues. Yesterday I was driving through town when the jeep started sputtering and trying to die. I made it to a drive through where it died several times in gear. After leaving the drive through I tried to make it home, but the jeep just kept dying. So, I pulled into a parking lot and let it cool for maybe 45 minutes. Put some fresh gas in it and noticed I was nearly empty on coolant, so I topped that off. After that I made it 30 mins home with a couple sputters, but no stalls.

The other thing I’ve noticed has been hard shifting and vibrating. If i’m on the gas and then let off there’s almost like a slap. The shifts have been getting progressively harsher. And going over small crests or bumps makes the driveline vibrate for just a second. I’ve always had vibrations when driving (nature of the beast) but since it started dying, the vibes have become more noticeable.

‘98 automatic with 190k on 4.5” of lift and have a 1.5” t-case drop installed. Any suggestions?

I would start at the crank sensor and see what happens after that .

Or…..
Dex on YouTube says pour a lot of cool water on the sensor & if it fixes it, you goot!

Another thing to look at is check the grounds on the passenger rear side of the block, sometimes if you have an oil leak you'll start having ground issues.
