Default Help deciding whether to buy '96 Cherokee

I recently moved to Australia and although parts are hard to get here, I still love Jeeps and I am looking into buying a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4. It has 150,000 mi on it (or 240,000 km as they say here). I have never owned a Jeep with this many miles. What can start to go wrong at this point? Is it a safe bet, or risky one? I am curious to hear from anyone with experience with high-mileage Jeeps.

Thanks for your help!
Brandon

Jeeps can last up to 300k if taken care of. I suggest you talk to the owner or dealer (whoever is selling it), and find out what it went through. I bought my first xj and it had about 130k miles on it. Although it was from a family member so I knew how it was.

What is the asking price in US dollars. I would not pay more than 2500 for one here in the states. You can run these suckers for ever with proper maintenance schedule.

Yea it all depends on the price compared to the XJ, Like most used cars. But the XJ is a wonderful truck to own and drive. Hell I have two and if I find a deal I'll get another.
