Help Dana 30 vac front Froze

Default Help Dana 30 vac front Froze

I just changed the front dana 30 on my brothers 91 xj and swapped in a vacuum dana 30 drove it about 40 yards and now it won't move the front at all. jacked it up tires wont spin either.I changed pads and calipers when changed front so cant be them.

is it the axle or tc case,spin ds possible remove cover see what gives

I took driveshaft lose on the dana 30 and it goes into 4 wheel drive fine.

either brakes locked up or something in ring and pinion start pulling things

I can spin the Ring gear fine but tires wont spin and its jacked up now.

brakes would be next then hard to think both brakes just locked at same time though

probably not, but- are they the correct break parts for vehicle. i got the rear rotors for a GC to put on the front of my xj. as soon as it was down off the lift and in gear, there was already drag on the front and neither tire would spin. so w/ mine i knew right away, and id guess that youd have exact same issue... but yours drove for a bit first... do both wheels have issue?

Yea both are the same. I believe the problem is worn wheel bearings from been sitting so long.

I would guess it has the wrong rotors installed. You can't use early rotors on a later axle and vice versa.

The mounting surface is thicker from one to the other. I did the same thing. I know mine was a 1994 and the rotors were for an 89.

Yep believe thats it then did yours grab bad like emergency brake was on but the front?

Yup locked solid, swapped the other rotors back on and no problem.

Looks like it was 86-91 used one type and 92-01 used the other.
