ok well i really need your guys help. i have a 1990 cherokee laredo with 97,000 miles on it. The transmission is has been acting weird. When i am driving it it seems like it down shifts on its own. I will be driving about 30-35mph ans all of a sudden it feels like it shiftes to first, well accualy it does. RPMS rev and then it will pop back into drive. it does it all the time weather im going 30-35 or 40-45 or even 50-60 it does it then itll stop then jump agan. And it wont just go to 1st gear it seems like itll shif some times to 3rd and even 2nd. i had the tranny servises...new filter new trans fluid. I just brought it to the shop yesterday and now he sayd that it might be some clutch problem idk....please help if you guys have any advise please let me here it!

Your not alone with this problem. Mine downshifts like you described also. Can't figure it out. Going 65 with foot resting on the pedal it stays in 3rd. If I put my foot into the gas it will shift out to 4th. Its weird.

ya thats it...idk i have to take my tranny out and bring it to the shop. is it hard to rip the tranys out? its an auto i mean i heard its farely simple....?

I have only taken 1 out and it was a 97. Fairly simple with the correct tools and an extra set of hands. Re installing is what will get ya. Gotta be just right.
