Ahhhh, the infamous death wobble.
Check for play in any of the following...
Tie rods
Pitman arm
track bar
ball joints
Control arms
Check all bushings
Alignment
Tire pressure and make sure they are balanced
It will be helpful to have a second person with you

very common problem, and the shop will cost you a pretty penny. ive had DW a couple of times and always solved with a little tire balancing and cranking some bolts down

mine went away after I replaced the tie rods and the steering damper. but went up for an alignment and found out i had bad ball joints, so I did those too. then I aligned it myself.
if you know someone with some mechanical skills or if you do, the parts are cheap, just time consuming. ball joints were a PITA even with the install kit i rented, cause they did not have the angled installation parts and I had to rig something up to get the ball joints to go in straight.
start with the easiest stuff, tire balancing and pressure check. a tire shop can probably check the balance pretty cheap.
and really get someone else to turn the wheel and you get under tehre and look at all teh suspension components, if there is any play what so ever its going to need replaced.
i just want to ask you this.. do you regularly drive the jeep on the highway or over 50 alot? it just seems weird that it would hit you that bad and then keep you from going over 20 without it happening again? any thing now that if you think about it that it may have been getting loose before?
i had death wobble for over a year, when it finally got to the point i couldnt drive it over 30mph thats when i started fixing.. as i dont drive my jeep more than 20 miles a week, unless its a special case.

and like he said, check the bolts and make sure everything is tight. I have also read that sometimes the trackbar mount can break... but this would be pretty obvious.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. She is at the shop. I'll post what they found. I love my shop they will fix it and I can park my f250 gas hog. I do miss her. Now who knows anything about kobotas.
