I just bought a 1989 XJ 2.5 l
it does not have any spark
I've checked all the wires going to the coil and I'm getting power to the coil but I'm not getting any power from the coil to the distributor
I replace the coil and still nothing I've checked all my relays and fuses and none of them are blown I just don't know what I should check next

also not getting fuel any fuel to the cylinders

 

The wire from the coil to the cap on the distributor is a tight distance. Ensure that it is tight on the contacts or swap a different, longer wire to the center of the distributor cap.

Also, one screw easily removes the cap. Don't unplug the wires just to look at the internal contacts of the cap.
