heavy duty helper springs
Has anyone installed these or something similar? My Cherokee is starting to sag in the rear PO installed some AAL's but the ride is stiff and jumpy over road imperfections. I'm thinking of removing the AAL's and installing these until Jan or Feb when I can afford a decent lift kit with new leaf springs. I'm hoping that these will maintain my ride heigth and ease the rough ride a little.

I think that the u bolts go around the axle then the spring itself sits between the axle and frame rail. just on the inside of the leaf spring.

Yeah, a little warning going in my head too. But, why do they sell these things? Someone must use them. Maybe people buy them, use them, and throw em out. LOL
Guess I will just stick with what I have until I can do the right thing. These were from Autozone. I know that i have looked at them before like 20 years ago, I was thinking of putting them on a 69 Chevy I had then. So its not a new product.

Outside of Autozone this is the only confirmed reference to these things that I can find. Hard to put any value to these persons feedback though.

I had a set of those for my truck.I used them when hauling heavy loads.I wouldn't recommend them for an XJ.When my truck was unloaded it would bounce like you wouldn't beleive.Very rough ride. They do bolt between the axle and frame rail.It was worse than a 41 ****** with bad springs. Not kidding.

I have a set of helper springs i'v been considering putting on my xj. I havn't looked at em real close yet but they're pretty much small coil springs that mount over the the shocks. I picked em up at a garage sale but i'v never seen em anywhere else.
