Default Heater speed control switch fried

Ok so first off this is on a 94 cherokee sport 4.0 HO. Heater wasn't working traced the problem to the control unit in the dash. My question is do I need to replace the whole unit or can I just buy a new connection and a new blower control switch? I'll post pictures tonight.

Additional info. The wire connection plugging into the blower control switch is badly corroded/ melted. And one of the pins stuck in it when I unplugged it.

I just went through this on my Cherokee Country. First, I couldn't locate a new connector (plug) for the blower switch wires, and wound up using spade lugs on the wires, to connect to the new switch.
If you do that, keep track of the color code of the wires & where they go on the switch.
You may want to check the blower resistor also.
The blower motor may be drawing more current if it's old, which helps to over-heat/melt the connector on the switch.
I replaced the resistor, the switch, and the blower motor........

I bought the switch, and the resistor on Ebay, for about 15% of what they cost locally. I bought the blower motor from Oreilly auto parts, a VDO brand, and swapped the fan from the old motor.

I got the blower to kick on for a split second and the motor was loud as a banshee. So I'll just replace everything
