heater control valve delete?

Default heater control valve delete?

so far ive replaced it twice because they both leaked out of were the linkage is unless I take of the vacuum line so is there a way I can delete it or do I have to keep switching them out

vac lines suck! no pun... if there is a way to do a vac delete, id go with that

you can get rid of it, just make sure the core flows the correct direction when you hook it back up. Later model cherokees don't have the valve.

The only kink in the process is you need to SEAL the vacuum line that normally controls the valve. I think you can find vacuum line caps at a auto parts store in the HELP! section.

Might need to replace old heater hoses with longer ones (5/8" & 3/4"). '97 & up XJs don't have the vacuum valve. As stated, need to plug the vacuum line.

you might have heat coming into thye cab all the time if you eliminate it

All '97 & up XJs don't have the vacuum heater control valve.....the factory did away with it. Heater works fine in winter and no issues in summer.

then why do 96 and older have a valve to stop the hot water flow because the vent system in the cab is different

i actually just deleted mine today on my current xj. the previous owner had the heater core bypassed because of a cracked valve.

the last couple xj's ive done this on havnt had issues in the summer with A/C.

there is no neat coming in at all without it, i dont have mine hooked up because the valve was leaking so bad and the last couple of days been kinda cold this far south dont have the money for valve i got hose in the shed looks like i get heat tomorrow for free
