Hi guys,

Has anyone tried fitting a non-xj blower motor into an xj? Finding it hard to source a replacement heater blower motor here in the UK, but can find some Grand Cherokee ones that look reasonably similar.

I think you get to be the test pilot.
I suspect it isn't a common swap over here since the correct part is easy to find. Chrysler did share a lot of parts across models, it wouldn't surprise me if it's the same motor with changes to the mounting plate.
If nothing else you might look for a motor shop to rewind the old one.

Just to conclude this thread.
I managed to source one for a 97 XJ, fitted it and all was well. :-)
So, never managed to act as the test pilot (Thankfully)
