Default Heat soak: Insulator wrap, Pros/cons?

I have used the search button and, came across mixed opinions.

I have major, major heat soak issues. I can idle it for 10 mins, and shut it off and restart it 5 minutes later with these codes. 1. P0300, 2. P0302, 3. P0303, P0304. They are 1. multiple cyl. misfire, 2. Cyl 2 misfire, 3. Cyl 3 misfire, and Cyl 4 misfire.

So far I have taken the stupid insulator shield off and ran a switch to the aux. fan.
It helped a great deal, but will covering the injectors and fuel rail in insulator tape help? Also will using a lower temp thermostat help? I need to replace it soon, because it is running a little warm. Letting it set will bring it up to 230F on a scantool.

I would think weather is still cool enough that heat soak would not be an issue unless the motor is overheating. Thought the factory fix was insulation around #3 & #4 injectors. Sounds like your problem is more than heat soak.

It does it in temperature above 50F, the weather today was 80F. The engine will NOT go below 215F even with the fan blowing and hood open. Yes the factory fix is the insulator wrap, but on my 2000 it did not help one tiny bit. If you have any ideas on why it would be doing this, let me know? It also has 3 cats, and 4 o2 sensors. but 2 of the cats are built into the manifold under the intake.

The jeep runs great when it is cool, it idles smooth at 500 RPM and does not leak a drop of oil...

Have u verified temp with a infrared gun pointed at the t-stat cover? Cooling system maintenance? How old r cooling components, fan clutch, radiator, water pump, etc.? Tune-up/spark plugs, etc.? 215F at 80F and below sounds like borderline overheating. 180F t-stat may help a little for another couple of months AND ONLY if the rest of the cooling system is in top notch condition.

T-stat only controls MINIMUM coolant temp.
