heat from only defrost
My 93 did the same thing. The blower motor was fine, it was just the electrical going to it. Oh yea and you should only post you questions once, you have another thread asking the exact same thing... Just a friendly reminder.

vacuum hose is broke or has a hole in it. check all the hoses running from the vac canister in the bumper in front of the battery i'm willing to bet one is broke.
its a vacuum issue
either a leak, or a plugged line
they get clogged up by the intake manifold quite often and would cause this.
if there is no vacuum, then the hvac system defaults to defrost. it's a safety issue.

I have a 96 XJ with the exact same problem. I get heat from defrost, but on VENT or HEAT, i only get lukewarm air.
When people on here say to look for a problem with vacuum, what exactly are you looking for?
I checked the canister and lines...all are connected and the outside looked ok.
Do you have to start pulling the lines apart to verify vacuum? How would you check this?
I am starting to wonder if one of the doors is stuck....is there any way to check this without ripping apart the dash?
