Default Headliner glue???

Hey guys!
Water was getting through the gaskets on my windshield glass, and my headliner got wet, on the front edge. It started to come unglued. It's made out of cloth, factory installed.

What glue you recommend i get and what stores sell them?

Thanks!

3M HEADLINER adhesive is probably your best bet. I used permatex headliner adhesive and it's still holding up. Both are available at your basic auto parts store.

Might wanna consider sealing your windshield first, then redoing the whole headliner at this point...

If the headliner is 15 years old and deteriorating it should just be replaced, any attempt to "repair" an area will look like poop.

Your right on the button! Lets see, it's 2014 and I've got a 1999 and hey . . . . the headliner just dropped! It was kinda funny in a way, I just got the XJ a week or so before and backing up somethin' looked odd in the rear view mirror - turned around and SAGGY headliner! There had been a weather change here in Virginia the day before which may have somethin' to do with it.
Anyway in doin' some research on headliner repair/replacement I wasn't to interested in doing it myself. A new upolstery shop just opened near by so's I stopped he said $125 and I said OK! He did a great job, all new and good for another 15 years.
After the fact I found out what a great deal I got. Oh and I didn't realize that the headliner had added clearance for the rear seat passengers till after I had it done.

Yeah, replace it . . . .

3m 88 has held for the last three years in Georgia heat for me.

The glue smelled really bad for 3 weeks but it eventually went away.
