Default Headlights wont turn on

So, headlamps wont turn on. high beams engage, but they wont stay on. Blinkers work, dome works, parking lights come on, but no headlamps. Any ideas? 1993 XJ

What have you tested? Have you check for bad fuses? Traced wires? Have a Volt meter?

I'm sorry man, I'm shot haha. I just lifted it 4.5, then everything went wrong, finally finished that, u joints went, finished that and I get in and the lights don't work haha. Just about to burn it. I have a volt meter, didn't check yet. Too dark outside. I was hoping it was a relay, but I'm pretty sure XJs get their power directly from the switch? I know for sure the lamps aren't burnt out, but are there any places inside it could of came loose? I wanna check the simple stuff first before I start ripping it apart

If 1993 still uses the GM column,

the first thing I would check would be the dimmer switch (#80) located near the top on the base of the column.

So, tested it. No grounds. Pulled the headlamp switch. That was the culprit. The headlamp switch was a pain to get to under the dash, but once installed everything is working fine. Thanks for the advice all.
