headlights not working

Not a dumb question. You can do it two ways. 1)go to auto parts store and buy a replacement link and crimp it onto the wire, or 2) replace the link with a water resistant fuse holder and a 20 amp fuse. Most auto parts stores keep fuseable link in stock.

replaced with fuse and holder and headlights are still not working

have you tried tracing back the wires from the headlight harness to the switch. Maybe looking for what could be breaks or burns in the wires

do you know if there is any other plugs that connect under the hood that are for the headlights or do the wires go straight from the switch to the lights?

the power runs through the dimmer switch then to the lights.

Because you have no high or low beam , I would think maybe a ground issue

I have a repair manual that covers that year and model on my tool box at work. I'll copy the wiring diagrams and send them to you when I get home from work tomarrow

Problem solved.Some how when I was messing with my ignition switch I must of unplugged the high beam plug. Plugged it back in and I said let there be light. Thanks for all your help!!!
