Default Headlight Switch from Standard Motor

Hi,

I have problems with my Headlight Switch, now began to smell something burning and after trying all (wires, bulbs, etc) came to the conclusion that that is causing the problem is the Headlight Switch. Reviewing in my garage and I got had saved a brand new Standard Motor DS-346 Headlight Switch. The question is: is it compatible with my 1996 Cherokee Country? I have understood that the Headlight Switch that fit my Jeep is the DS-741. Some of you have placed a DS-346?

Thanks in advance for your help.

That appears to be a dodge truck part and doesn't cross over to an XJ. I'd get the right one rather than risk damage to an already weak part of the vehicle.

The headlamp switch was burnt the hell up in my 96 when I got it. Such a pain to rewire it, but I snatched a headlamp switch from a yard and works well now. Hopefully you don't have to go through as much as I did for that.
