Default Headgaskets and Carbon build up

I recently put a new haedgasket on (all went well)then I started noticing a hesitation. I pulled the plugs and they were covered in carbon. I reran the vacuum lines and found one off, cleaned the plugs running better. My question is is carbon( black as coal) normal after a headgasket replacement?

I dont think it is normal, is it hard dry black or oily sticky black? Did u replace valve seals at all while u did this?

Good deal, at least you found it. Yeah, oily carbon would not have been a good sign.
